REBECCA STRAWFORD CHARITY SWIM for ALL AS ONE

A reminder that the Rebecca Strawford Charity Swim will take place at 8.30am on Thursday 31st May. Please encourage your children to ‘sponsor’ their friends who are taking part in the event. There is also a teachers team swimming so if you would like to sponsor the teachers please see Mrs. Johnson in Year 4.

Parents of those children taking part are welcome and encouraged to come and watch.

All donations are most welcome for a wonderful cause and to honour Mrs. Strawford's memory.

Please ask children to bring any donations to Mr. Galas on Thursday.

Summer Sizzler: win while you learn'

Miss Vig's Book Now on Sale

Dear Parents,
I have just had my first children’s book published, ‘The Adventures Of The Eco Warriors’.



It is a story set in Dubai about a group of children who try to save the world. The inspiration of this book has come from the children at RDS.
Starting from Sunday, I will be selling signed copies of my book in school.
Cost of the book is 50aed each.

Outstanding Basketball Success!

RDS are Dubai Basketball Champions 2012!!

The Year 6 basketball team were OUTSTANDING yesterday as they won the Dubai Basketball League, beating a very strong Emirates International School (Meadows) in the Final. The score was tied at 10 points all and with about 15 seconds remaining Alipate scored the winner. The whole team were amazing and I was very proud of their commitment, effort, work rate and determination to win, and of course their basketball ability. The team was:

Yousef (unfortunately Yousef was sick yesterday and missed the final)

PARENTS VS. STAFF NETBALL
Tuesday 15th May
7.15pm – 8.15pm

At the moment there are only two parents signed up to play Tuesday evening....unfortunately if there is no more interest we will have to cancel this event.

If you would like to come along you need to either email Miss East on l.east_RDS@gemsedu.com or see someone in the PE office and leave your name.

Pending further interest we will announce on Monday 14th as to whether it will go ahead.

Dear Parents

Please note that the next PTA coffee morning will be Thursday 3rd May at 8am in the CEZ room next to the library.

The main topic we need to talk about is organising the RDS school fair which is going to be on Thursday 31st May. We need as many people as possible to run stalls and to help with the day

We would love to see as many of you as possible at this informal morning.
